Similar to the Movado Mens Luno Watch, the lines on this watch are a bit cleaner. This watch is a little less substantial as well, and a little less expensive.

It shares the same understated classiness, though, and of course it shares the quality of Movado. The museum black face, uninterrupted except for the concave dot at the top, exudes simple, unencumbered sophistication. The “invisible” clasp adds to the understated look, as do the simple steel bezel and case.

An elegant watch designed to be both classy and functional, built with the quality of the Citizen’s name.

The most notable feature, of course, is the Eco-Drive. This allows the watch to power itself from absorbed sunlight as well as artificial light. This means that the watch never needs a battery. The watch will indicate if the power level is low by changing the motion of the second hand (while still keeping accurate time).

The calendar adjusts automatically for leap-years as well as adjusting to the number of days in each month. The chronograph sub-dials are subtly blended into the watch face, tracking day-of-the-week, local time, alarm time, and 24-hour time.

The stainless steel band blends seamlessley into the bezel, giving a hint to its “perpetual” design. The watch is water resistant to 330 feet. Note that this is a substantial watch — if you want a lighter watch, this isn’t the one for you.

This is a great example of an antique, collectible Mickey mouse watch. Manufactured more than seventy years ago, the value has risen from $2.95 at time of sale to several hundred dollars today.

Finding these watches with the box intact is very rare. You can find 30-40 year old Mickey watches regularly on eBay in the fifty to one hundred dollar range, but the ones from the 1930’s come up rarely and always go fast and for top dollar.

If you can’t get your hands on an older model, it’s a pretty safe bet that the 1970’s and 1980’s models will appreciate in value going forward. This watch, of course, may be long-gone by the time you come across this post but, if you’re patient, you’ll find one like it.

The strap is made of genuine brown alligator with contrasting white stitching. The hands are silver-toned and luminous for night-viewing. The movement is Swiss quartz. With a similar face to the Women’s Movado Rondiro Steel watch, this is a slightly less-expensive and more popular watch. The band is a bit simpler than the Rondiro, making it more versatile and appropriate for less formal settings.

It’s certainly no less classy, though — this is another timeless piece from Movado. The case is perfectly round, made of polished steel, as is the bangle bracelet that fastens with a standard women’s jewelry clasp.

The face has the signature minimalist Museum black dial, with silver hands and the cabochon dot. The crystal is scratch-resistant sapphire.

The Mickey Mouse watch grows up. This watch shows Mickey only as the outline of the three sub-dials, so if you’re looking for a more ‘playful’ Mickey, this is not the right choice.

If, however, you do appreciate the understated look, this is a unique Disney chronograph with three subdials plus a Sun/Moon dial.

This is a discontinued watch, which makes it difficult to find. It is gold-plated, has a classy gold bezel with thick black leather band. It is water-resistant, and has a scratch-resistant mineral crystal to protect the face.

The watch is new and is an instant collectible. Lorus is one of the brands made by Seiko and, as such, is the only company licensed to produce Disney watches.
