The Spitfire Mark XV is named for the British World War II fighter plane. Founded in Schaffhausen, Switzerland in 1868, the International Watch Company (IWC) has created a pilot’s watch.
It features a easy to read black dial with a a full Arabic numeral display, minute indices, and a date window at the 3 position. The Spitfire is durable, too. It has a raised bezel and scratch-resistant sapphire glass crystal with an anti-reflective coating.
It is water resistant to 200 feet and a soft-iron inner case to protect it against magnetic fields. Using age-old watch-making techniques, an automatic movement keeps the internal spring wound using the force of gravity.
This watch brings together the spirit of the spitfire with the spirit of Swiss craftsmanship.
